Youth Football

  AGE AND WEIGHT REQUIREMENTS

All ages are as of July 31st, 2007

Freshman Division is comprised of 5 and 6 year olds.  The weight for any player in a position intended to advance the ball is 75 pounds.  The tight end may be over the weight limit by 20 pounds (95 pounds) for carrying the ball and still be eligible as a 'receiver' only.  The tight end may only advance the ball after the completion of a forward pass.  NOTE:  This is a new division for the KFL and is played with an 8-man football format.  Coaches are allowed on the field to instruct and this division plays on a 60-yard field.

Sophomore Division is comprised of  7 and 8 year olds.   The weight for any player in a position intended to advance the ball is limited to 100 pounds.  The tight end may be over the weight limit by 20 pounds (120 pounds) for carrying the ball and still be eligible as a 'receiver' only.  The tight end may only advance the ball after the completion of a forward pass. 

Junior Division is comprised of 9 and 10 year olds.   The weight for any player in a position intended to advance the ball is limited to 125 pounds.  The tight end may be over the weight limit by 20 pounds (145 pounds)  for carrying the ball and still be eligible as a 'receiver' only.  The tight end may only advance the ball after the completion of a forward pass. 

Senior Division is comprised of 11 and 12 year olds.  Players participating in middle school football programs are eligible to play in the league provided they are 12 years old on or before July 31st.  The weight limit for any player in a position intended to advance the ball is limited to 150 pounds.  The tight end may be over the weight limit by 20 pounds (170 pounds) for carrying the ball and still be eligible as a 'receiver' only.  The tight end may only advance the ball after the completion of a forward pass.
